Have your daily workouts lapsed? Here's 4 ways to get them back on track

Did you start lockdown with grand plans of daily runs, yoga sessions or high-intensity home workouts, only to stop after a few weeks once you got bored?

As restrictions continue to ease, you have the opportunity to turn things around -- as exercise is crucial for your mental and physical health.

To ease back in, it could help to:

  • start slowly - be more active throughout the day, by taking the stairs a few more times than you need to or taking 10 minutes out of your morning to practise yoga or strength exercises
  • schedule time to work out by building it into your daily routine
  • do another activity while you exercise - you may find it more rewarding to know you’re achieving 2 things at the same time, like reading a book while on an exercise bike or walking to get your food shopping
  • keep fit with someone else so you can support each other

If you struggle to stay motivated or stick to a routine, try to set goals you can work towards.
