How to avoid going ‘stir-crazy’ during lockdown

The beauty of being able to go where you want, when you want lies in the variety of things you can see and do.

But when your day involves moving between the same rooms in your house, it’s easy to start feeling like a caged animal.

There are a few things you can do, however, to avoid going stir-crazy.

  • don’t sleep and work in your bedroom -- aim to do different activities in different rooms (if possible) to help break up your day
  • talk to people -- make a video or phone call at least once a day
  • get some fresh air daily -- you may be in lockdown, but guidelines in most countries allow you to go outdoors daily for some fresh air and exercise

If you do venture out for fresh air or groceries, remember to go alone, stay 2 metres (6 feet) away from other people and follow the guidelines of the country you’re in.
