The difference a good night's sleep can make
Tuesday, 21 April · 2 min read

Most people need around 8 hours of quality sleep each night to keep them functioning at their best as sleep plays a crucial role in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing.

It does this by:

  • strengthening your immune system which helps fight viruses and infections
  • boosting your mood and energy levels
  • helping brain function - a lack of sleep can contribute to poor memory and concentration, as well as problems with learning

You may be feeling more stressed and anxious than usual at the moment, which can make getting to sleep more difficult. It could help to:

  • keep regular sleep hours
  • reduce the amount of caffeine you drink
  • create a restful sleeping environment
  • make sure your bed is comfortable
  • do something relaxing before bed, like listening to quiet music or taking a hot bath

Quote of the day

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.-- Maya Angelou

Workout without leaving the couch

You may have days where you feel like you never left the couch -- or maybe days where you just don't want to.

But if you're worried this is making you unhealthy, why not try a sofa workout, as described here by the UK's National Health Service.
