How to quickly feel more energised
Sunday, 19 April · 3 min read

When you exercise your body releases chemicals called endorphins, which make you feel happier and more energised. That’s why the best thing you can do while staying at home is to make time to exercise daily.

Burpees (or squat thrusts) are one of the best full-body exercises you can do at home - they require little space, no equipment, and can be adjusted to suit your fitness level.

To get a quick but effective home workout, just do 2 sets of 15 to 24 reps.*

Here’s how to do a burpee.

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms by your sides.
  2. Sink your bottom back and lower yourself into a squat position.
  3. Tip your body forward to place your hands on the floor.
  4. Kick both your legs back into a plank position (if this is too challenging you can step your legs back 1 at a time).
  5. Jump or step your legs forward to return to a squatting position.
  6. Stand up straight.

*Only exercise if you have no symptoms and/or if a doctor has told you it’s safe to do so.
