Which cancers are more common in men - and can you prevent them?

Do you know which cancers are most common among men?

The top 3 are lung, prostate and colorectal cancers, which account for nearly half (44%) of all cancers in men, according to the World Cancer Research Fund.

But it's possible to spot signs of these cancers early, or make lifestyle changes to help prevent them.

The best way to catch most cancers early is by screening, though availability of tests will vary by country and there is ongoing debate around the test used to screen for prostate cancer.

You can also make lifestyle changes to reduce your risk of developing these and other forms of cancer, such as:

  • maintaining a healthy weight
  • keeping physically active
  • keeping red and processed meats to a minimum in your diet
  • not smoking
  • drinking alcohol in moderation

If you'd like to know more, you can read about prostate cancer, colorectal cancer and lung cancer.
